Chennga Rinchen Jungne (spyan snga rin chen 'byung gnas) was a disciple of Jikten Gonpo Rinchen Pel ('jig rten mgon po rin chen dpal, 1143-1217), the founder of the Drigung Til Monastery ('bri gung mthil), and of his disciple Chennga Drakpa Jungne (spyan snga grags pa 'byung gnas, 1175-1255), with whom he spent many years, earning himself the epithet of Chennga (spyan snga), meaning "attendant."
He is credited with transcribing many of the key teachings of Jikten Gonpo and his disciples. Among these is The Stainless Illuminating Lamp; The Stages of the Path and Methods the Tathāgata Uses to Tame Sentient Beings According to Their Needs (thub pa'i btul zhugs kyis gdul bya gang 'dul du bskyangs lam gyi rim pa dri ma med cing snang bar byed pa'i sgron me).
