Tsultrim Wangmo (thul khrims dbang mo) was born in the Tengchen (steng chen) area of Kham, and was educated in the Bon tradition. She was known as Khandroma (mkha' 'gro ma), or ḍākinī, which attests to her advanced learning and realization. In 1928, the earth-dragon year of sixteenth sexagenarian cycle, she founded Khapung Nunnery (kha spungs), a Bon religious institution in the Gange (ga ngad) region of Tengchen, Chamdo. The institution and its religious practices survived the Cultural Revolution. In recent times, Khapung was home to about twenty nuns who are supported by their families and locals requesting services.
Tsultrim Wangmo is remembered for her contribution to the development of Bon practice in the region. The exact date of her death is not known.
