Naropa University in Boulder, Colorado, was founded as the Naropa Institute in 1974 by Chogyam Trungpa as a Buddhist influenced institute of higher learning. It is home to the Jack Kerouac School of Disembodied Poetics, which was founded by Anne Waldman and Allen Ginsburg. It was accredited in 1988 and offers undergraduate and graduate degrees.
