Tarpa Ling is a Geluk monastery that was founded by the Fifth Dalai Lama in the seventeenth century. Possibly it was founded on a site where a Nyingma institution used to exist. Tarpa Ling is a branch of the Dalai Lamas's personal monastery, Namgyel Dratsang.
