This text was written in two parts: the first five chapters, in 1494, by the disciple Nyukla Paṇchen Ngawang Drakpa (smyug la paN chen ngag dbang grags pa, 1458-1515), when the yogin was about thirty-six years old; and the last four chapters in 1537, by Lhatong Lotsāwa Shenyen Namgyel (lha mthong lo tsA ba shes gnyen rnam rgyal, born 1512), five years after the yogin’s death.
