Samye Ling is a Karma Kagyu temple and dharma center in Dumfries, Scotland. It was initially a Theravadin Buddhist center, Johnstone House Contemplative Community, built around an old hunting lodge a Canadian Theravadin monk named Leslie George Dawson (1931-2003). In 1970 it was taken over by Chogyam Trungpa and Akhon Rinpoche, who converted it to the Karma Kagyu tradition. It is currently administered as part of Akong Rinpoche's ROKPA Trust.
