Ridrak was a Kagyu hermitage to the northeast of Kanze in Kham. It was originally associated with a monastery that was destroyed in the seventeenth century, and continued to function through to the second half of the twentieth century. It was the birthplace of Kalu Rinpoche in an area well-known for its abundance of medicinal plants.
