The Treasury of Lives

Rato is a Geluk monastery in Chushur that was founded by the Kadam master Gyachang Ruba in 1205, apparently originally under the name Rawa. In the fifteenth century Kunkhyen Yonten Gyatso taught there, strongly advocating the teachings of Tsongkhapa, and the community split into Rawa To (Upper Rawa), which followed the Geluk tradition, and Rawa Me (Lower Rawa), which followed Sakya.
