Chubzang Monastery is an important Geluk monastery in Amdo that was founded in 1649 by Chubzang Namgyel Peljor. It was destroyed in 1724, rebuilt in 1765, and refurbished in 1887. At one time it was the wealthiest monastery in the Tsongkha region of Amdo.
