Little is known about the teacher named Khenchen Tashi Tsultrim (mkhen chen bkra shis tshul khrims). Lineage records and the painting from which this image was taken tell us he was a teacher most likely active in the thirteenth or fourteenth century, a disciple of Khen Sonam Pel (mkhan bsod nams dpal) and a teacher to Sharchen Yeshe Gyeltsen (shar chen ye shes rgyal mtshan), most likely in a transmission line of Prajñāpāramitā.

Two Lineal Lamas
Two men, Kunkhyen and Jamyang Chokyi Gyalpo. This painting is from a set of compositions that appears based on similar paintings identified as a Sakya Lamdre Lineage set. The secondary lineage that starts at the top left and proceeds down the right and left registers is possibly the Prajnaparamita Lineage beginning with Shakyamuni Buddha.
