Pelpung is a major Karma Kagyu monastery in Derge, Kham. It was established in 1727 by the Eighth Tai Situ, Chokyi Jungne, on the site of an earlier Drigung Kagyu monastery. It was the seat of Jamgon Kongtrul, and remains the seat of the Situ incarnations.
