Tubten Gepel is a Sakya monastery in central Tibet. It was established near the site of a palace associated with the family of Sakya Pandita's mother, Machik Buma Nyitri Lhacham. There may have also been a significant monastery there in those times, as well as a famous hot spring. In the early 16th century, Tsarchen Losel Gyatso restored the monastery. It was destroyed during the cultural revolution; a new temple was built in the 1980s.
