Samten Tse was a nunnery at Tsurpu. It was established in the mid-twentieth century by Orgyen Tsomo, known as the Great Ḍākinī of Tsurpu. Although it survived the initial Communist takeover of Tibet, it appears to have been completely destroyed during the Cultural Revolution. It was reestablished in India under the guidance of Khandro Rinpoche.
