Nyetang Mokchok, also known as Tashi Dechen, is a Shangpa Kagyu monastery in Chushur county of central Tibet founded in the twelfth century by Mokchok Rinchen Tsondru. Mokchok Jampa Yeshe, who trained at Drigung Monastery, built a new monastery next to Tashi Dechen called Silwa Tsel in the early twentieth century. Tashi Dechen was destroyed during the Cultural Revolution, but Silwa Tsel survived by being used as grain storage, and has been restored.
