Lake Manasarovar is located in the Ngari region of western Tibet, to the east of Mount Kailash. The lake is significant in multiple religious traditions. For Buddhists, Manasarovar is an important site of circumambulatory pilgrimage; tradition holds that Shakyamuni Buddha was conceived at the lake.
