Hepo Ri is a ridge above Samye Monastery. It is said to be the location where Padmasambhava subjugated many local deities. At one time, stupas containing relics of Santaraksita, Kawa Peltsek, Nanam Yeshe De, and Chokro Lui Gyeltsen were located along the slopes of the mountain.
