The Treasury of Lives

The Mindrol Nominan incarnation line, also known as the Tseten Nominhan, was based at Tsenpo Monastery in Amdo, which is also known as Serkhok. The line began when Lobzang Tendzin Gyatso was identified as the reincarnation of a lama of Tsenpo named Tsenpo Nominhan Ngawang Trinle Lhundrub. The identity of the third incarnation is not known, but the Fourth was named Jampel Chokyi Tendzin, and the Fifth was named Kelzang Tubten Trinle Gyatso.

Lobzang Tendzin Gyatso was the Second Mindrol lama of Tsenpo Monastery in Amdo, one of the eight reincarnation lineages, or kūtuktus, residing at Beijing in the late eighteenth century. He served as emissary of the Seventh Dalai Lama, and appears to have played an important role in developing Tibetan-Manchu relations. Subsequent incarnations were known by both Mindrol Nominhan and Tsenpo Nominan.
