Beginning with the first king of Tibet Nyatri Tsenpo in 390 BC and ending with the assasination of forty-third King Tri Udumtsen, also known as Langdarma, in 842 CE, this is the great Tibetan dynasty that ruled the whole of Tibet. The Pugyel are commonly known as the Yarlung dynasty, as they first settled and ruled in the Yarlung valley. They are also called the Mugyel for the clan line of Mu (dmu), which is different from the ancestral Mu (rmu) clan.
