Tsangsar Lhalam is a Barom Kagyu monastery in Nangchen that was founded by a lama named Sonam Yeshe. It was a family monastery of a branch of the Tsangsar family headed by Orgyen Chopel, the husband of Konchok Peldron, Chokgyur Lingpa's daughter. Their children included Samten Gyatso, Tersey Tulku, Lama Sang-ngak, and Chime Dorje, the father of Tulku Urgyen. Due to their influence, the monastery became a center for the practice of the revelations of Chokyur Lingpa, known as the Chokling Tersar.
