The Treasury of Lives



Tsunma Yulha (g.yu lha) was born in 1901, the iron-ox year of fifteenth sexagenary cycle, in Oda Khetong (o mda' mkhas mthong) Village, in Drakyap (brak g.yab), Chamdo (chab mdo). She studied Buddhism and Tibetan medical science under direction of numerous masters, including Adzom Gyelse Gyurme Dorje (a 'dzoms rgyal sras 'gyur med rdo rje, b. 1895) and Dzogchen Khenpo Ngakchung (rdzogs chen mkhan po ngag chung, 1879-1940). She developed a considerable reputation as a meditator and was also well known for treating patients using traditional Tibetan medicine.

She passed away in 1980, the iron-monkey year of sixteenth sexagenary cycle. According to traditional accounts, her corpse shrank in size to about the length of one cubit (khru).
