The Treasury of Lives

Konchok Delek (dkon mchog bde legs) was born in 1447 in Sakya (sa skya), Tsang (gtsang). As youth he received a monastic education, and later devoted himself to the studies of Tibetan medicine under direction of Drangti Chogyel Tashi (brang ti chos rgyal bkra shis) and Drangti Pelgon Dorje (brang ti dpal mgon rdo rje).

Konchok Delek wrote thirteen compositions on Tibetan medical science including The Red Volume of Advice (man ngag po ti dmar po), The Black Volume of Advice (man ngag po ti nag po), The Multicolored Volume of Advice (man ngag po ti khra bo), and some commentaries on The Four Treatises. Desi Sanggye Gyatso's (sde sri sangs rgyas rgya mtsho, 1653-1705) history of Tibetan medicine, The Mirror of Beryl, offers a summary of Konchok Delek's works.

Konchok Delek trained a great number of disciples, including his nephew Konchok Pendar (dkon mchog phan dar, 1511-1577).  He passed away in 1506
