Tsongonpo, or Blue Lake, is also known commonly known as Kokonor (Mongolian). Located in Kangtsa Country in northern Amdo, it is the largest lake on the Tibetan plateau. There are numerous temples and monasteries in the area and it continues to be an important pilgrimage site.
