Tosam Tardo Ling College for the Preservation of Buddhist Culture was a school established in Buxa Duar, northern India, in the 1960s to provide education to resently resettled monks from Tibet. The education model was based on western and Indian systems instead the traditional Tibetan model. Unprecedented in Tibetan history, Tosam Tardo Ling was a community of Tibetan monastics from all Buddhist traditions, headed by eight abbots.
