Also known as Dzoge Nyima Monastery or Dzoge Nyima Ganden Rabgye Ling, the monastery was founded around 1780 by the Second Zamtsa Sertri Lobzang Jigme Namkha in Amdo. Administered by Labrang Monastery, it was a Geluk institution. After its founding, Lobzang Jigme Namkha served as the first abbot for eight years.
