Tsopu is a monastery and hermitage in Nyarong affiliated with Katok. It was in existence by at least the eighteenth century when the First Tsopu Drubchen, Choying Rangdrol, devoted his life to meditation here, his title being derived from the place name. It was also known as Tsozur Monastery and Chopu.
