The Ngul Parkhang, or treasury, was built around 1850 and renovated in 1996. Located within the Shol at the base of the Potala, it was where paper money was printed after Tibetan paper currency ceased to be printed in Nepal. The building itself it not distinctive, resembling residential buildings of the same period.
