Little is known about the teacher named Khenchen Tashi Tsultrim (mkhyen bkra shis tshul khrims), a teacher most likely active in the thirteenth or fourteenth century, outside of lineage records and the painting from which this illustration is taken. He was a disciple of Khen Sonam Pel (mkhan bsod nams dpal) and a teacher to Sharchen Yeshe Gyeltsen (shar chen ye shes rgyal mtshan), most likely in a transmission line of Prajñāpāramitā,
