Ninth Taklung Tripa Tashi Peltsek

This eighteenth century painting from the collection of the Rubin Museum of Himalayan Art depicts the Ninth head of Taklung Monastery, Tashi Peltsek. Tashi Peltsek lived at a time of great doctinal invention and exchange, taking teachings from masters in all traditions. In this painting he is surrounded by masters and translators including his direct teachers Lotsāwa Drakpa Gyeltsen and Jangchub Tsemo.
