The Khangnang lamas are based at Pelyul Monastery. The line originated with Tashi Puntsok, who lived in the nineteenth century.

Tashi Puntsok was a Nyingma lama from Pelyul Monastery. His reincarnations are known as the Khangnang lamas.

Shedrub Gyatso was a Nyingma master based at Pelyul Monastery and an early abbot of its monastic college.
